Happy Five Months: Isla Rose

Dear Isla Rose,

Another month has come and gone and just like that you are now five months old today. You are exactly 19 pounds, 2 ounces beautiful (and so chunky but we love it).

You are the definition of FAITH, HOPE and JOY and I mean that so deeply. Each day with you is a gift from God, and we are so so blessed and honored to be your parents . You have the sweetest spirit and your smile gets bigger each month!  You bring joy to our lives and sparkle to our eyes. We love to watch you grow so beautifully and pray for you every. single. day. There are times when I look at you and I love you so much that I feel like my heart could just burst. Your Daddy and I are in awe of your beauty and are convinced that you are God's child and that you will do great things in the future. You have really amazed us in the last month!!  You're starting to blossom in your own little way.

Daddy is the best at getting you to do full on belly laughs. He sure can make you giggle like a little wild girl. I love to watch y’all play together and to hear your giggles together. I honestly don’t think my heart has ever been so full.  Every single day I wake, I realize God chose me as your Mommy and that makes me strive hard to do my very best at my "mommy job" and your Daddy feels the same way.

This past month, your personality has shined more than ever.  You are starting to love tummy time more and are really learning to keep that head steady and upright!!  You're such a strong little girl and we continue to be proud of your accomplishments each day being that you have some delays due to your vision.  You still love getting your diaper changed. It's so cute how you reach for your toes when we put you on the changing table.  Bath time is currently your favorite.  You love to splash!  You love to touch and feel and are starting to use your hands so well.  You love to touch our faces and you love Mommy's hair and nose.  You're still not quite sleeping in your crib yet but each day, we're working towards getting you settled in there.  I think it's mostly me that's having a hard time putting you in there because I love having you in your bassinet right beside me so I can watch you sleep.  Some nights, I lay there and just watch you sleep for hours and talk to God asking him to bless you.

Some of your current favorite toys are:
BlaBla Dolls,   Oball Rattle Ball, Grow Kick and Play Piano Mat ,  Safari Swing and your Maileg Prince and Princess rattles.   You still sleep with Georgette the Giraffe {that's our special name for her little comforting blankey} and it has to get bathed weekly because of the amount of milky drool she gets on it! (ha)

Our sweet Isla Rose,
one of our most beautiful miracles in life,
one of the greatest joys we can ever know,
and one of the reasons why
there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness
in our world today.
We love every part of your heart and soul.
We will always be here for you and never let go.
Because of you, our hearts are forever changed.

We love you to the moon and back, little petunia!!
Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother Grant.

Also, don't forget about the upcoming 7th Annual VisionWalk being held by Foundation Fighting Blindness this Saturday, October 5th at 9:00am.  Isla Rose currently has a team called "Isla's Eyes" and we have made it to our second fund raising goal.  Truly amazing!!  We are so touched,  honored and  thankful for all those who have donated and/or signed up to walk this Saturday. Also,  it's not too late to sign up or you can certainly just come out that morning to support our team and meet Baby Isla Rose if you're not up for walking.  We'd love to see you, meet those whom we have not had the pleasure of meeting yet.  Here is the link to her page so you can check out the progress our team has made, get the details and keep in touch:  Isla's Eyes

Thanks for stopping by.
