"The 52 Project - A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, for the remainder of 2014"

I have recently struggled with getting Isla to sleep in her own crib. It started when she turned 12 months old. We've never had any trouble with putting her in her crib until now.  I have practically tried everything and read every book there is and it seems she is just going through some sort of stage. I know it won't last forever and the saying "let them be little" always comes to mind.  We never anticipated that we would end up doing "co-sleeping" but it just happened and it seems to be working for her and us {for now}. One thing I try to stress as a parent is that you cannot treat your child the same as other children and what works for some may not always work for others. My point is that sometimes you have to follow your heart and what feels right. And for now, it feels  right to have her curled up next to us sound asleep.  I know that one day I will look back and miss her tiny body curled up against mine because in the blink of an eye she will be moving into a toddler bed and I will miss her next to us. Cherish every moment and always keep your little ones close. They are only little once.
