The husband and I decided to head out to enjoy the weather that Charlotte had to offer on Saturday afternoon. It was a near-like Spring day! Mid afternoon, we watched NC State vs Duke game (State won and my husband was one happy camper so I talked him into venturing out), then we packed up a bagged lunch to picnic and headed to Latta Plantation for a hike around the trails, pet the horses & then walked up to the Raptor Center to see all the pretty little birds.
With our $10 a piece entry fee, our donation will have fed at least 20 of the birds! They said it can take up to $4,000.00 a day/week to feed the birds. That's a significant amount of money, so, our paying visit went to a good cause and that made us happy. If you are Charlotte based or close enough to it, you should pack up and check it out for an afternoon. It's very educational and if you have kids, they'll love it. We've taken Grant twice now in the past 5 years.
